If you have been in kitchens for a while and can run a few stations, great! If not, we will teach you everything you need to know to be successful with us. The kitchen is the heart of a restaurant and a solid team keeps the beat strong and consistent. It takes the whole kitchen working together to put out memorable dinners, so if you enjoy working in a team, you will thrive here. Most team members cross-train, so there is also an opportunity to learn and grow.
El Corral is only open for dinner service, and our prep team has the bulk of the day's prep list complete before the evening kitchen team arrives. This means that you can come into a clean, stocked, and ready kitchen, with only minimal prep for your station. This also means that your shift starts a bit later in the day, giving you more time before work to live life. The menu is straightforward and the restaurant is grateful to have a lot of volume. The pace can be quick so previous history as a short order cook or in high volume operations is a big plus, but not necessary. Compensation starts at $15.5/hr and some kitchen positions are tipped out as well.
