Electrical Engineer

Description:

Production Electrical Engineer needed for contract opportunity with SOC, LLC's client, to work onsite in Tucson, AZ.

Contract Length: 12+months, conversion to FTE likely

Must possess an active DoD/DoW interim Secret Security Clearance or higher as a condition of employment.

Work Environment

On site role at a production facility in one of the following shifts:

  • Shift 1
    • 7am to 4pm
  • Shift 2
    • 3pm to 12am
  • Shift 3
    • 11pm to 8am

Core Responsibilities

  • Electrical engineering degree or similar training is a must.
  • Hands-on experience with hardware, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis (RCA) is needed.
  • Production design experience is a plus, but not mandatory.
  • Looking for candidates with 5-10 years of industry experience to mentor junior staff.
  • Quickly assess technical problems and determine likely causes
  • Identify what additional information is needed to solve issues
  • Understand available resources and decide the best path forward
  • Prioritize urgent issues against other active failures or production problems
  • Develop troubleshooting, corrective action, and final resolution plans
  • Communicate action plans clearly to cross functional teams with diverse backgrounds
  • Provide ongoing updates, status tracking, and drive issues through completion
  • Resolve production factory and supplier related technical issues
  • Support troubleshooting and maintenance of production hardware and systems
  • Maintain technical data packages and create engineering change documentation in cPDM
  • Present change packages in Review Board and Change Board meetings
  • Coordinate team members and resources to close issues efficiently
  • Participate in peer reviews with Engineering and Operations teams
  • Perform general electrical engineering tasks related to production support

Hands On Troubleshooting:

  • Diagnose failures using oscilloscopes
  • Use logic analyzers for digital signal troubleshooting
  • Operate function generators and programmable power supplies
  • Use spectrum analyzers and network analyzers
  • Apply additional electronic test equipment as needed

Process Improvement

  • Analyze defect and yield data
  • Implement improvements to reduce recurring failures
  • Support manufacturing efficiency and quality initiatives

Required Skills:

  • Hold Active U.S. government issued Secret clearance
  • Electrical engineering degree or similar training is a must.
  • Hands-on experience with hardware, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis (RCA) is needed.
  • Production design experience is a plus, but not mandatory.
  • Looking for candidates with 5-10 years of industry experience to mentor junior staff.

Experience testing or debugging one or more of the following:

  • Digital systems
  • Analog systems
  • RF systems
  • Mixed signal systems
  • Complex circuit card assemblies
  • Electromechanical systems
  • Experience with Root Cause Corrective Action investigations
  • Background supporting manufacturing or test of electronic assemblies
  • Strong proficiency with lab equipment

Ability to read and interpret: Schematics:

  • PCB layouts
  • Bills of Materials (BoMs)

Preferred Skills

  • Prior production support engineering experience

Electrical design experience with:

  • Circuit card assemblies (CCA)
  • Electro optical systems (EO)
  • RF systems
  • Seeker or sensor systems
  • Electronic subsystems
  • Experience with:
  • Circuit design

  • Post test flight analysis experience
  • Statistical Process Control (SPC) knowledge

  • Experience implementing Engineering Change Notices
  • Ability to work independently and within a small technical team

Experience Required

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience

Education Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or similar field

Employment Prerequisites
