Senior Electrical Engineer

Location: Tucson, AZ (Relocation Supported)

Role Overview

This role provides technical leadership and project management support for consulting and engineering services within the water and wastewater industry. The Senior Electrical Engineer will combine hands-on electrical and controls design with client engagement, mentoring junior staff, and leading project delivery.

The position supports critical infrastructure projects such as water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, wells, and related facilities throughout the full project lifecycle.

What the Senior Electrical Engineer Will Do

• Lead and support electrical engineering design for water and wastewater infrastructure projects
• Provide technical leadership on power distribution, motor control centers, standby power systems, and instrumentation & controls
• Develop scopes of work, cost estimates, and project documentation
• Manage and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams
• Serve as a trusted technical advisor to clients and project stakeholders
• Support projects through planning, design, construction, and commissioning
• Mentor and support junior engineering staff
• Work closely with operations staff, field crews, contractors, and fellow engineers to ensure designs are practical, safe, and buildable

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
• 7+ years of experience in electrical engineering design and construction projects
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Arizona
• OR currently licensed as a PE in another U.S. state with a complete NCEES record and the ability to obtain Arizona licensure without additional education or experience
• Willingness to travel up to 50%, depending on project needs
• Willingness to relocate to Tucson

Preferred Experience (Nice to Have)

• Experience in the municipal water and wastewater industry
• Consulting experience
• Instrumentation & Controls experience (PLCs, SCADA integration)
• Project management experience
