Description:

Plan and direct the work of professional and support personnel providing care to patients in a multi-location Ophthalmology practice including opticians, front desk, technicians, scribes. Seven current MD/OD providers with room to grow. Specialties include advanced technology cataract surgery performed in our two ophthalmology specific ASCs; glaucoma, oculo-plastics, comprehensive ophthalmology and medical optometry. High surgical volume.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of Eye Associates of Tucson and related optical services by ensuring appropriate staffing, scheduling, customer experience, physician experience, financial profitability, etc.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve practice efficiency and patient care.
  • Manage and supervise staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Coordinate with healthcare providers to ensure smooth workflow and optimal patient care.
  • Collaborate with the enterprise business management team which oversees accounting, RCM, IT and other business operations.
  • Implement utilization management strategies to optimize resource allocation.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain accurate records.
  • Oversee human resource functions to address staffing needs and employee relations issues.
  • Monitor the financial performance of the business and take corrective action as needed.
  • Experience with financial reporting and documentation; Turning data into actionable and understandable information.
  • Create and regularly report financial and quality metrics to ownership as requested.
  • Coordinate revenue cycle management functions, specifically between billing team and accounting team to ensure timely and efficient processes

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, or equivalent tenure and industry experience.
  • Master's degree in business administration, health administration or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in medical office management or healthcare management role, preferably in ophthalmology although similar specialty experience considered.
  • Strong knowledge of medical administrative support functions and practice management principles.
  • Experience with electronic health record systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership and motivational skills and experience leading physicians.
  • COE or other Medical Practice industry certification preferred.
