Position: Concessions Food Prep
Department: AVA Concessions
Job Summary: Assists with food preparation and portioning in preparation for special events and concerts within the AVA
Entertainment Center.

Duties and Responsibilities (specific areas of responsibility include but are not limited to):

  1. Prepares and packages concession food items.
  2. Cleans and maintains all cooking appliances and utensils storing them in a sanitary environment.
  3. Ensures that all food preparation is conducted in accordance with state and local health regulations.
  4. Stores all unprepared food items in coolers and ensures that supervisor is alerted to remaining quantities (for possible transfer to another venue).
  5. Documents log of all food items not sold.
  6. Disposes of all food items not sold in proper fashion.
  7. Complies with all guest service standards.
  8. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  1. Knowledge of and familiarity with all food and beverage, health and safety regulations per local applicable laws.
  2. Skill in working courteously with the public as well as developing and maintaining good working relationships.
  3. Must be able to stand for at least eight (8) hours at a time.
  4. Must be able to lift at least forty (40) pounds with or without reasonable accommodations.
  5. Ability to communicate and follow directions effectively.
  6. Ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment.
  7. Ability to perform basic mathematical computations pertaining to the position.
  8. Must present a clean, well-groomed appearance.
  9. Ability to work in a smoking environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
  1. Must be at least 18 years of age and have 6 months of food preparation experience
  2. Demonstrated track record of providing excellent guest service.
  3. Must be able to work any shift, weekends, holidays, special events, and overtime, as needed.
  4. Must have or be able to obtain "Food Handlers" certification within ninety (90) days of employment.
  5. Must have employment eligibility in the U.S.
  6. Must be able to obtain a valid non-gaming badge.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Bilingual (English/Spanish).
  2. Knowledge of inventory control.
