Position Summary
The Assembler 3 position performs disassembly, assembly, re-work, and minimum testing of various electrical/electronic equipment
Years of Experience: Minimum 5 years of prior related work experience in an electrical/avionics manufacturing/testing environment or completed OJT training for at least 10 products
Responsibilities
• Use electric solder equipment to IPC-A-610B standard
• Cut, prepar,e and pre-tin wires, prepare batteries, apply conformal coat, markin,g and adhesive bonding
• Follow written and verbal instructions
• Complete work according to instructions, specification,s and procedures, under direct and/or limited supervision
• Perform a variety of complex mechanical and/or electromechanical assembly operations in accordance with company instructions and procedures
• Conduct inspections of own and/or other associates' work to ensure correctness in accordance with company and/or customer drawings
• Minimum testing of various electrical/electronic equipment, as needed
• Maintain a clean and orderly workstatio,n adhering to 5S standards
• Maintain an acceptable safety record
• Maintain an acceptable attendance record. Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s), and additional hours as necessary
• Adhere to all company guidelines, policie,s and procedures
• Able and willing to comply with Drug-Free Workplace policies and pass all related drug/alcohol screenings as required
• Assist other departments with job duties, tasks, training, and development as needed
• Other responsibilities as assigned
Physical Requirements
• Approximately 90% sitting and 10% standing/walking about in-door Company facilities
• Lift and Carry up to 35 lbs
• Use head and neck in static position, looking up/down and side-to-side
• Perform light lifting from the floor, table, and shelf
• Use hand tools, power tools, and electric soldering gun
• Perform major hand grasping and fine finger manipulations using both hands
• Push and pull carts or mobile tables, loaded and unloaded
• Minimal: heavy lifting from floor or higher, bending, twisting, climbing, lifting arms above shoulders, kneeling
• Minimal: exposure to excessive noise, hazardous chemicals, hazardous equipment, uneven walking surfaces
• Typing with a computer and keyboard
Qualifications
• Good mechanical aptitude
• Able to operate a variety of hand tools, power tools, electric soldering gun, and light machinery; Proficient in using the tools, equipment, and inspection aids applicable to the scope of work assigned
• Capable of performing basic mathematics
• Ability to read and interpret company documents, such as safety rules, operating/ manufacturing instructions, policies, and procedures
• Good manual dexterity required to work with small parts
• Able to problem-solve using existing procedures to perform straightforward tasks
• Effective oral, writte,n and interpersonal skills
• Must be able to work all shifts and be available for overtime and weekends as needed
• Able to perform complex mechanical and/or electromechanical assembly operations
• Capable of solving problems in situations that are atypical or infrequently occurring based on existing precedents or procedures
• Skilled at simple welding tasks and/or brazing, or soldering
• Experience with MS Office Suite
