Pay: $28.00- $30.00 per hour DOE

Qualifications

Here's what you'll need:

  • Experience operating a wastewater treatment facility
  • Strong understanding of safety principles and safe work practices
  • Experience with computer operations, including preparing spreadsheets and word-processing documents, and entering data into a maintenance management system
  • Valid driver's license
Ideally, you'll also have:
  • Knowledge of the principles, methods, and tools used in wastewater treatment operations, including engines, pumps, valves, motors, and related equipment
  • Understanding of biological and chemical sewage analysis, industrial waste impacts, and wastewater treatment processes
  • Knowledge of general maintenance work, supervisory principles, and safe work practices
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, data management systems, and the ability to operate PLC and SCADA systems
Responsibilities

As a Wastewater Operator, you will be part of a collaborative team ensuring uninterrupted service for municipal clients. In this role, you will:
  • Operate and maintain wastewater treatment plant systems
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance
  • Monitor plant operations and make process control adjustments
  • Diagnose operating issues and implement corrective actions
  • Collect samples and perform laboratory testing
  • Determine appropriate chemical flow rates
  • Maintain shift logs and prepare operational reports
  • Establish and follow effective sampling procedures for plant operations and effluent
  • Perform additional duties as required
  • Take action to ensure the safety, health, and well-being of yourself and your team
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

Safety is a core value in our organization. This is a safety-sensitive position requiring successful completion of a Fitness for Duty evaluation.

Physical and environmental demands may include:
  • Standing, walking, sitting, balancing, climbing, kneeling, squatting, reaching, and repetitive hand movements
  • Dexterity, grip strength, and cardiorespiratory endurance
  • Work performed indoors and outdoors
  • Exposure to loud noise, active machinery, high-pressure systems, electrical equipment, confined spaces, heights, fumes, airborne particles, noxious gases, and chemicals
Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory.
