Position Summary:
We are currently seeking an Junior/Intermediate Electrical Engineer for our Tampa, Florida office. This is a vacant position for which we are actively recruiting. Essential Job Functions:
• Assist in the design, drafting, and review of power systems for transmission and distribution projects.
• Prepare and update engineering drawings, including single-line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, wiring diagrams, communication diagrams, BOMs, and panel layouts.
• Perform basic protective relay calculations and fault studies under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Support the creation of protective relay settings for transmission and distribution systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project goals are met.
• Ensure designs comply with industry standards and project specifications.
• Participate in design reviews to ensure quality and accuracy.
• Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
• Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
• Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.
• Additional duties as required.
Required Qualifications:
• Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 1-6 years of relevant experience in design and drafting for transmission and distribution projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD is required; experience in MicroStation is an asset.
• Familiarity with substations up to 500kV.
• Strong understanding of engineering principles and electrical design standards.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment with excellent communication skills.
• Enthusiasm for learning and professional growth.
• Willingness and ability to travel as needed, approximately 5%.
