Aircraft Painter

Prepare aircraft and component parts by performing surface preparation tasks prior to the application of primer, sealant, and erosion tape. Apply primer and topcoat, layout aircraft to customer specifications, and inspect, perform touch-up, and polish painted surfaces for a finished appearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform surface preparation tasks on aircraft and component parts.
• Apply primer and topcoat to aircraft and components.
• Layout aircraft according to customer specifications.
• Inspect, perform touch-up, and polish painted surfaces for a finished appearance.
• Document work performed in accordance with appropriate manuals.

Essential Skills

• 5 years of aircraft painting experience in a Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) environment.
• Proficiency in painting, detailing, and blending techniques.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Customer service and aviation work experience.
• Basic PC skills.
• Basic knowledge of pulling maintenance manuals and IPCs from computers.
• Understanding of regulations related to the transportation of hazardous materials.
• Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms regarding individual and aircraft status.
• Ability to interpret and work with mechanical engineering drawings.

Work Environment

Work in a temperature-controlled facility located on the south side of Tucson International Airport. Flexibility in scheduling is required.

This is a Contract position based out of Tucson, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $42.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
