$21.11 per hour. Commensurate with experience.

Qualifications:

  • 18 years of age or older
  • A high school or high school equivalency diploma
  • Ability to obtain a Level 1 fingerprint clearance card
  • Ability to pass a background check as required by DHS and DES
  • Ability to meet all DHS and DES requirements including but not limited to CPR/1st aid training, 18 hours of DHS annual training from hire date and DES Health and Safety trainings
Candidates must meet one of the following sets of criteria:
  • A minimum of 6 months of child care experience and a high school or high school equivalency diploma or
  • At least 12 credit hours from an accredited college or university including six credit hours or more in early childhood, child development, or a closely-related field or
  • An associate's degree or bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood, child development, or a closely-related field or
  • An N.A.C., C.D.A., or C.C.P. credential

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Maintains office in a professional, efficient and organized manner.
  • Completes correspondence, reports, and related material.
  • Opens and distributes incoming correspondence.
  • Maintains general office files.
  • Receives office visitors.
  • Maintains director's calendar and schedules appointments.
  • Processes DES billing.
  • Provides accounts receivable customer support for DES families.
  • Provides training and support to providers regarding timelines, reporting and appropriate documentation of all services.
  • Coordinates CPR and first aid training for health aides.
  • Coordinates required program audits.
  • Assists with community school student registration.
  • Attends training sessions/meetings with appropriate agencies.
  • Creates, obtains and distributes data collection forms for billing purposes.
  • Provides substantiated documentation for all financial data and claim remittals.
  • Assures District compliance with program requirements.
  • Maintains and enforces confidentiality of all safeguard information.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned.

  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Knowledge and understanding of children with special needs.
  • Skills in human relations.
  • Ability to communicate Director's expectations to others in the office setting.
  • Knowledge and understanding of administrative and secretarial practices.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and courteously with staff, students, parents and community members.
  • Knowledge of applicable Federal and State laws, district procedures and Board policies.
  • Ability to handle confrontation and conflict without an emotional response.
  • Skills in time management.

General Information:
Serves as administrative assistant for Community School Director and handles all billing, collections, Department of Economic Security (DES) paperwork and compliance requirements and performs specialized and complex administrative assistant duties.
