Tucson Electric Power, located in Tucson, AZ, is seeking an Associate Engineer, Senior Associate Engineer, or Lead Associate Engineer. This position involves providing specialized and independent work in the performance of engineering studies and data evaluations. It also includes a technical role in evaluating and recommending changes or additions to equipment construction and material standards.
Responsibilities include organizing and directing material evaluations, independently reviewing project progress and results, developing major project requirements, providing technical evaluation of incoming material, performing budgetary and cost studies, ensuring accurate and updated construction and material standards information, providing recommendations and decisions for standards issues, assisting or leading the development of computer programs and databases, initiating work orders and material requisitions, and providing representation in the Distribution Standards Committee activities.
For the Associate Engineer, primary responsibilities include managing small and medium-sized projects, assisting other engineers in large and complex projects, performing technical studies as needed, and communicating effectively with various departments. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, 5 years of experience in engineering, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to work under guidance.
The Senior Associate Engineer will have primary responsibility for medium to large projects, assist in the training of other engineers, and assist in the review and revision of material and design standards. Qualifications include 3 years of professional experience as an Associate Engineer, good time management skills, leadership, organization, and communication skills, and proficiency with electrical drawings and concepts.
The Lead Associate Engineer will manage projects of any size or complexity, perform technical and financial studies, communicate effectively with all areas of the company, investigate new equipment developments, conduct engineering evaluations, provide technical guidance and training, and serve as a technical lead in their area of expertise. Qualifications include 7 years of professional experience as a Senior Associate Engineer, technical course work in the assigned area, high-level technical skill and proficiency, the ability to work independently, and demonstrated professional leadership.
