Position Description
The primary duty of a Maintenance Planner is to analyze, plan, and coordinate the work of the assigned area with the work planning process. The Planner works closely with E&I, Mechanical Maintenance, Operations, Material Operations, Chemistry, Environmental, Procurement and Engineering as well as other support personnel to accomplish this duty.
Position-Related Responsibilities
* Receives corrective work requests; develops detailed scopes of work including job plans and job steps, develops estimates of materials, labor and submits request for parts needed to Material Operations in order to maintain optimum plant availability
* Administers the preventive and predictive work order database for assigned area
* Develops detailed Requests for Pricing and Purchase Requisitions
* Manages power production CMMS activities and information
* Develops flow charts (outage and project schedules) utilizing the critical path technique to develop cost estimates, labor requirements and duration of planned outages
* Verifies the availability of the assigned areas spare part inventory
* Maintains plant equipment database and history in the area of responsibility for reporting purposes
* Conducts research and prepares reports for the assembly of equipment maintenance history and replacement costs.
* Provides supervision of the maintenance sections assigned in the absence of the Maintenance Supervisor or upgraded Craftsperson
* Responsible for personal Safety and the Safety of your fellow workers at the station. Assists in accident investigations as required.
* Assists in the development of budgets and monitoring for compliance
* Responsible for Credit Card purchases, direct issue material purchases and reconciliation
* Responsible for initiating a request to obtain approval for additional hazardous material needed in the assigned area.
* This position may provide services to affiliates of the Company subject to the UNS Energy Code of Conduct and the related Policies and Procedures.
* Develops job plans for activities that are safe, environmentally compliant, consistent with OEM recommendations and industry best practices.
* Supports Sarbanes Oxley audits, financial controls and other audit functions as assigned.
Management Responsibilities
* Ensure that the Company's management principles, policies and programs are consistently practiced and to continually support the Affirmative Action Plan.
* Comply with and administer the terms and conditions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
* Ensure that the Performance Management program is administered uniformly and effectively.
* Assume fiduciary responsibility for operating the business and provide recommendations on cost improvement measures.
Knowledge, skills and abilities
Minimum Qualifications:
* High School Diploma or GED
* Drivers License
* 4 years Journeyman experience OR 4 years of experience Maintenance Planning and project planning OR Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Systems Controls Engineering
* Ability to be On Call on weekends and evenings
* Ability to diagnose electrical and instrumentation problems, determine repair methods and plan maintenance activities
* Verbal communication skills and written communication skills utilizing Microsoft applications i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel etc.
* Ability to be self-directed and work independently as well as a part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience in Power Generating Station Maintenance and/or Plant Operations
* Budgeting preparation and analysis
* CMMS experience including Maximo, iPROC, Project and/or Primavera
* Supervisory experience in a union environment
