Job Details

Provides continuous cardiac monitor observation to detect, record, and report normal and abnormal heart rhythms patterns and provide ECG interval measurements. Consults with nursing staff and medical staff regarding heart rhythm patterns. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Sets up and ensures proper functioning of ECG monitoring equipment; applies electrodes on predetermined measured positions on the patient and checks their performance. Records and calculates all necessary parameters and assists with the interpretation of ECG tracings. Monitors patient condition levels; reports changes to the appropriate individuals. Responds to emergency situations. Maintains logs or reports as directed for equipment malfunctions. Performs clerical duties such as answering telephone. Participates in the orientation of new personnel and in the ongoing in-service education of the team.
