Position Highlights

The International Education Student Specialist works closely with the Assistant Director for International Education and indirectly supports day-to-day student needs and activities in the student life cycle (from application to matriculation, and course enrollment through graduation) at Arizona International Microcampuses.

The majority of this position involves supporting colleagues at international university partners and University of Arizona Main Campus colleagues, with limited direct student contact.

Additionally, this position requires great attention to detail and excellent analyzation skills in order to run reports, analyze the data, and compile it in an easy-to-read format. Finally, superb communication skills are required to share the compiled data with relevant stakeholders.

Duties & Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the application, admission, and enrollment processes for Arizona International Microcampus students.
  • Manage student service processes including CatCard (university ID card) application processes, change of campus/mobility across Microcampuses, transfer of credits, and graduation and post-graduation services for Microcampus students.
  • Provide general support to U of A students attending Arizona International Microcampuses.
  • Interface with U of A administrative and academic units to coordinate student-related tasks such as coordinating orientation and graduation logistics, visa support letters, and other responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with Location Managers to ensure effective and timely response and support on student-related matters.
  • Provide problem solving assistance to faculty, staff, and students.
  • Prepare reports and quickly analyze data on Microcampus students.
  • Assist in the coordination of engagement activities - remotely and at U of A Main Campus - for Microcampus students.
  • Support the various aspects related to launching Arizona International Microcampus locations, as well as other international education models and initiatives, as needed.
  • Attend all Arizona International team meetings.
  • Serve as member of Arizona International committees/task forces if need be.
  • Contribute to the collaborative planning and execution of U of A strategic priorities.
  • Maintain currency in the field through professional development; attend conferences and workshops as appropriate on a rotating basis.
  • Represent the U of A in a positive and engaging manner to ensure positive working relationships with all key stakeholders, including partner universities, students, potential partner universities and applicants, program staff, government institutions and ministries, U of A Main Campus departments and colleagues, and the broader public.

  • Excellent problem-solving, organization, analyzation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with people from a variety of cultural backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the principles of community relations.
  • Must be a team player and help Arizona International across all units.
  • Must be able to regularly work non-traditional business hours.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through experience required.
  • 1 year of relevant work experience required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in higher education, international education, or related activities.
  • Knowledge of U of A data systems or general university systems (e.g., Peoplesoft, Microsoft office).
  • Experience in multiple computer software programs.
  • Open to occasional international and domestic travel as needed.
