The TGO Gaming Inspector 2 Technician is the second step in the TGO Gaming Office Inspector series. Incumbent will apply general knowledge of Tribal Gaming Compact, Internal Controls, department policies, and procedures. The Gaming Inspector in this class can expect to be assigned to any functional area within the TGO, including rotating job assignments; rotating shifts & varied work schedules.
Monitor casino activities, employees, and customers to ensure compliance and accountability with all applicable gaming laws and regulations.
Observe customers on gaming floor to ensure no cheating or illegal gambling activities; report violations as necessary.
Perform inspections and observations.
Conduct initial investigations of patron disputes, violations of policies and procedures and/or violations of Compact provisions.
Perform licensing intake duties and assist with employee background investigations.
Perform office duties such as; copying, filing, faxing, scanning, preparing, sorting, distributing appropriate paperwork and entering data into computer system.
Draft reports to track and document incidents, inspections, statistics or other projects.
Maintain and update computerized files and records.
Assist in ensuring machine compliance through monthly audits, certifications and testing; as needed.
Assist in the review and approval process of regulatory compliance documents.
Perform other duties of a similar nature or level as requested by supervisor or director.

Associate's Degree and three (3) years of TGO/Regulatory gaming experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of job such as those listed above. Equivalent experience may include positions where the applicant has worked in an oversight, compliance, and/or internal controls environment. Such experience would typically be gained through positions such as Compliance, Internal Auditing, Regulatory Review, or similar type of work experience.
SELECTION CRITERIA FOR EXTERNAL CANDIDATES: After meeting the knowledge, essential skills, training and experience requirements, candidates are invited to take a scored written test and a scored oral board; top 25% scoring candidates will be referred to the hiring Director for consideration. Tribal Indian Preference laws pertain in all cases.
FOR INTERNAL TGO CANDIDATES: Upon meeting the knowledge, essential skills, training and experience requirements, you become "eligible" for advancement** and may take the scored written test and oral board when offered the top 25% scoring candidates will be placed on the "Eligibility List" for current or future advancement opportunities. The Eligibility Listing expires every nine (9) months and candidate rankings do not carry forward to a new list i.e. candidates must test again to maintain eligibility. In-service grade advancement is not automatic and is based on performance and the employee's ability to successfully perform the essential duties of the job, subject to budgetary considerations and the needs of the TGO. **TGO employees that are currently under a written improvement plan and/or have been under a written improvement plan or demoted within 12 months of the date of application are ineligible for in-service grade advancement.
