Position Description
The Town of Marana is seeking a knowledgeable and proactive Cybersecurity Analyst to enhance and protect the Town's information systems and technology infrastructure. This full-time position plays a critical role in safeguarding municipal data, ensuring compliance with relevant security standards, and implementing best practices to prevent cyber threats across the organization.

Expected Hiring Range: $79,709.03 - $99,635.73
Salary Range: $79,709.03 - $119,562.43
- placement within the salary range is dependent on direct experience, internal equity and/or budget
Examples of Duties- Develop, implement, and maintain the Town's cybersecurity policies, procedures, and standards; Ensure compliance with applicable regulations such as CJIS and NIST frameworks.
- Collaborate with IT staff and other departments to identify and address cybersecurity risks; Monitor networks and systems for security breaches, incidents, and vulnerabilities; Lead incident response efforts, including investigation, mitigation, and documentation.
- Conduct regular security assessments, audits, and penetration testing; Evaluate and recommend security enhancements for existing and future systems; Manage security tools including firewalls, endpoint protection, governance solutions (GRC), and intrusion detection systems (IDS/IPS).
- Provide cybersecurity awareness training and resources to Town employees.
- Stay current with emerging cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, cybersecurity or closely related field.
- Over three years of experience in cybersecurity functions such as network security, vulnerability management, or incident response.
- Must pass a fingerprint clearance background check.
An equivalent combination of education, certifications and relevant experience that provides the desired knowledge, skills & abilities to successfully perform essential functions may be considered.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, GCIH, GSEC, CompTIA CySA+, Cisco CyberOps Associate, SC-200/SC-300, SSCP, CompTIA Security+, or similar.
- Experience working in a government or municipal environment.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements for public sector IT.
- Familiarity with cloud security, Microsoft 365 security features and governance tools, and common security tools like Splunk and ExtraHop.
- Hands-on experience with network security, vulnerability management, and incident response.
