Position Highlights

Duties & Responsibilities

  • This position plays a key role in guiding collaboration efforts to align SW CACTI's support with investigator needs and in establishing links with relevant R&S faculty and staff leadership. Investigative partners span across University of Arizona and other organizations such as ASU, NAU, Mayo, Banner, etc. The needs of the investigators will range in scope of studies that support unique health challenges and expand an infinite array of health services such as cancer, substance abuse, etc. This position will assist with coordinating campus and partner resources to provide services to investigators for their studies. This position is integral in establishing working relationships between departments and institutions.
  • Provide pricing estimates for core services and assistance with project budget development. This is accomplished by collaborating with investigators requesting services to assess their needs, provide tailored pricing estimates and timelines for providing services to ensure alignment with the investigators' study goals.
  • Be able to identify various regulatory requirements for proposed projects. This includes project alignmentwith UA translational initiative and University of New Mexico partner goals,state and federal requirements. This is key to accurately assessing andcommunicating the feasibility of studies to the program and its partners.
  • Conduct preliminary review of pilot applications to ensure they are feasible given the resources offered by SW CACTI. Provide a recommendation to the supervisor for application advancement and secure final approval to proceed.
  • Provide ongoing evaluation of project needs for updated services (e.g., additional databases for informatics projects, use of novel lab equipment) to meet project goals and provide new services for future projects. Responsible for bridging communication and collaboration between the translational initiative, University of New Mexico, and partner investigators to identify and share tools, projects, and insights that optimize study performance.
  • Mapping the value stream for our Principal Investigator (PI) on a grant, external customers to maintain relevance and drive innovation in the R&S offerings. This is accomplished by researching with investigative partners (Banner, ASU, NAU, Mayo, etc.) to identify most effective and efficient ways to continue process improvements and assist with development to measure investigative successes.
  • Facilitate short, regularly scheduled 'huddles' with investigators to share updates on study support services and confirm satisfaction with service delivery. Duties include preparing the agenda and presenting relevant information.
  • Facilitate ongoing meetings with the TSN and faculty leads at UA and UNM to discuss shared challenges in CTS, highlight successful practices, and collaboratively work toward solutions. This includes agenda planning, meeting leadership, and information delivery.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Demonstrated ability insupporting investigators with finding critical resources.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and significant attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to gatherreal-time data.
  • Knowledge of clinical research practices, preferably in clinicaltrials.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with intermediate computer skills.
  • Strong organizational, administrative, andinterpersonal skills.
  • Ability to independently work on multiple projects and adapt to diversity of job tasks.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
  • Demonstrates professionalism and courtesy.
  • Ability to work in a team environment requiring coordination andcollaboration between different functional teams.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree orequivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experiencerequired.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
