Are you ready to work with some of the largest and most powerful machines on Earth? As a Product Support Engineer for Caterpillar's Electric Rope Shovels, you'll become an expert in a product line that moves millions of pounds of earth every day in mining operations across the globe.
These machinesranging from 1.7 to 15 million poundsare the backbone of mining productivity. You'll gain hands-on experience in every phase of their 20+ year lifecycle, from assembly and commissioning to maintenance and performance optimization. This role offers a unique opportunity to travel internationally, working directly with customers, technicians, engineers, and leadership teams. Our fully electric shovels are shipped in modular components and assembled on-site over a three-month period. You'll join at the final stage to verify that all systems are operating flawlessly. Plan to spend approximately 4 to 6 weeks on-site.

What Skills You Will Have
Service Excellence: Expert in troubleshooting electrical systems. Working knowledge of collaborating with customers to resolve electrical issues. Working knowledge of service, service engineering, or product support related areas
Technical Excellence: Working knowledge of AC and DC drive systems, PLCs, HMIs, power distribution, and electrical test equipment. Ability to engage appropriate subject matter resources to effectively resolve technical issues. Strong technical writing skills. Ability to provide effective solutions to moderate technical challenges through strong technical competence, effectively examining implications of events and issues.
Ability to understand the electrical, mechanical, structural, and hydraulic interactions across various machine platforms.
Effective Communications: Expert in writing reports that clearly define issues and resolutions. Working knowledge of delivering electrical training to customers. Ability to communicate well downward, upward, and outward. Ability to communicate with the CPI (Continuous Product Improvement) and NPI (New Product Introduction) teams to help improve our existing models and develop the best new models.
Top Candidates will also have:
A bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
Familiarity with hydraulics and pneumatics, gearing, welding, lubricants, wire rope, lifting and handling.
Familiarity with national standards such as NFPA, NEC, ANSI, OSHA, and MSHA.
The primary location for this position is Tucson, AZ or South Milwaukee, WI.
Domestic relocation assistance is available.
This position may require 50% domestic/international travel.

Summary Pay Range: $110,520.00 - $165,840.00 Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
