Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Superintendent to join our team. The project superintendent's role is to monitor, direct, coordinate, and maintain full control of all field matters. They will work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and inspectors to complete projects on time and within budget. This position also involves training, mentoring, and developing new superintendents. It offers a long-term opportunity within a growing company.

Responsibilities

  1. Review all plans, contract documents, specifications, shop drawings, scopes of work, and submittals to identify and clarify discrepancies.
  2. Help develop the overall master schedule with the project manager before construction begins and manage that schedule, including creating and maintaining 2-week look-ahead schedules.
  3. Develop and maintain the site logistics plan for each project.
  4. Assist in developing scopes of work for subcontractors.
  5. Conduct preconstruction meetings with subcontractors prior to each work phase.
  6. Direct field operations to operate efficiently according to plans and specifications.
  7. Manage, supervise, and inspect all on-site work.
  8. Conduct weekly job site meetings to review progress, schedules, and safety.
  9. Participate in progress meetings with the team and clients.
  10. Follow up on RFIs, submittals, and construction drawings.
  11. Schedule inspections with local authorities.
  12. Ensure the job site remains safe, clean, and orderly.
  13. Manage schedule changes, design modifications, and tight deadlines.
  14. Maintain daily and weekly reports.
  15. Administer the safety program for the project.
  16. Conduct quality control in accordance with plans and specifications.

Qualifications

  • Must have a valid and current State Journeyman Electrical License.
  • This is a traveling position; the candidate must be willing and able to travel 85% nationwide.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug and background checks.
  • Minimum of 6 years' experience in commercial construction, including ground-up projects.
  • Experience developing schedules and coordinating inspections.
  • Ability to read construction plans/drawings.
  • Ability to supervise multiple tasks and teams.
  • Proven knowledge in commercial building and related sectors.
