12/09/2024 DEFINITION: Under close supervision, greets incoming guests, assists with clerical duties and acts as a liaison between the community and school for Sunnyside Unified School District.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

TASKS:
Greets visitors, answers, and transfers telephone calls; sorts and distributes mail; makes copies; sends and receives faxes; assists with registering and withdrawing students; prepares paperwork for student grades, withdrawal, enrollment, and other personal information; enters tardies and absences of students in daily log on computer and generates reports; notifies parents of unexcused absences; monitors students during office visits, lunch periods and playground duty; ensures office is well organized and attractive.
Requests student records and sends out requested records; assists student with submitting official transcripts; distributes information to parents, students and staff; updates and maintains student records; translates both orally and in writing for staff, parents and community; processes employment verifications for current and past employees; schedules appointments; coordinates and schedules meetings; orders, distributes, and maintains office supplies; may assist with the student registration process; performs related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS:
Knowledge of District policies and procedures.
Knowledge of clerical techniques.
Skill in the use of a personal computer and related software programs.
Skill in handling requests in a timely manner.
Skill in updating and maintaining letters and reports.
Skill in following oral and written instructions.
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Work is performed in an indoor environment. Work requires frequent sitting, standing, bending, repetitive motion, vision to monitor, and may require some lifting. May be exposed to hostile or irate staff, students or public.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
One (1) year clerical experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience or two (2) years as a Sunnyside Unified School District employee
Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
Additional certifications may also be required as specified by the District.
Depending on the needs of the District, some incumbents in this class must be able to demonstrate fluency in both Spanish and English as a condition of employment.
Salary Grade: F Hourly Pay: $17.75 Hours per Day: 8 Days in Contract: 238 Start Date: 2024/2025 School Year
