Duties & Responsibilities

• Vacuums or sweeps floors, mops and spot clean using commercial vacuum cleaners and other equipment
• Dusts and/or polishes furniture, blinds and equipment
• Cleans restrooms and fills dispensers
• Initiates work orders for repair/maintenance
• Moves furniture, equipment or fixtures as required
• Reports malfunctions of bathroom fixtures, light fixtures and/or damages to room and hall furnishings to Supervisor
• Polishes and strips floors in rooms and halls
• Extracts carpets, and furniture using extraction equipment
• Provides quality customer service
• Assures all safety precautions are followed in the workplace
• Communicates effectively in a professional manner and is a team player

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent learning attained through experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Exceptional customer service experience
• Two years or more of institutional custodial experience
• Experience operating carpet cleaning and floor finishing machines. For example: buffers, extractors, auto scrubbers, and propane burnishers.

In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), each year the University of Arizona releases an Annual Security Report (ASR) for each of the University's campuses.Thesereports disclose information including Clery crime statistics for the previous three calendar years and policies, procedures, and programs the University uses to keep students and employees safe, including how to report crimes or other emergencies and resources for crime victims.
